National Endowment for the Arts: Jazz Masters Fellowships

Eddie Palmieri, a renowned pianist, bandleader, and composer, was named a 2013 NEA Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts. Known for his innovative fusion of Latin rhythms and jazz influences, Palmieri's career spans over five decades. His work with his band, La Perfecta, introduced groundbreaking sounds that have significantly influenced Latin jazz. Palmieri has received numerous awards, including ten Grammy Awards, and his contributions to music are preserved in the Library of Congress.
