Billboard Highlights Upcoming ‘Sweet Sweet Sugar’ Documentary Celebrating Eddie Palmieri’s Legacy

Billboard reported that the production has full access to Palmieri’s music catalog, as well as previously unseen archival footage documenting his career and creative process.

Director Omar Acosta emphasized Palmieri’s role as a cultural innovator whose work captured a defining moment in New York’s musical and social history. The film aims to provide both a personal portrait and a broader cultural context for Palmieri’s influence on modern music.
